2 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key
CLEAN Clean
3 Clean area surrounding the cap of the brake fluid expansion reservoir Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
4 Unscrew the cap on the brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid IMPORTANT This prevents the brake fluid expansion reservoir from overflowing when the brake pistons are pushed back.
5 Detach corresponding complete wheel   AR40.10-P-1102A
6 Disconnect right rear brake wear sensor electrical connector (S10/4x1) from right rear brake wear sensor (S10/4) When removing brake caliper (3) on right side of vehicle.
7 Remove bolt (4) and remove electrical connector of the right rear brake pad wear sensor (S10/4x1) When removing brake caliper (3) on right side of vehicle.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, brake wear sensor to brake caliper *BA42.10-P-1003-12J
8 Unhook electric line (16) from right electric parking brake actuator motor (M76/2) When removing brake caliper (3) on right side of vehicle.
9 Detach electrical connection from left electric parking brake actuator motor (M76/1) or right electric parking brake actuator motor (M76/2) When replacing brake caliper (3).
10 Remove bolt (1) IMPORTANT Counterhold guide pin (5).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Guide pin to brake caliper support or bolt for guide pin to brake caliper *BA42.10-P-1004-12J
11 Remove brake hose (6) When replacing brake caliper (3).
NOTES Seal the connections immediately using suitable SPECIAL TOOL stop plugs.
Otherwise adjacent components will be damaged by escaping brake fluid; if too much brake fluid escapes, this will cause problems when bleeding.
