Remove Longitudinal Member Outer Shell On Entrance - Ar63.30-P-1102-01LC

  1. Mark separating point on A-pillar paneling (1) and cut (areas A and B).

    NOTES Do not make the cuts too deep.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    a = approx. 185 mm

    b = approx. 960 mm

  2. Expose spot welds on A-pillar paneling (1) and cut out (areas C1 and C2 ).
  3. Remove A-pillar paneling (1).

  4. Expose self-piercing rivet on strut (7) and drill with Ø 6 mm bit (area N).

    IMPORTANT The self-piercing rivets can also be separated with a riveter for self-piercing and flow-form rivets.

  5. Unscrew bolts (6) from strut (7).
  6. Heat strut (7) in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  7. Remove strut (7).

  8. Mark separating points on lower front longitudinal member (5) and cut (areas R).

    NOTES Do not make the cuts too deep.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

  9. Expose spot welds on lower front longitudinal member (5) and cut out (areas P1 ).
  10. Expose clinch connections on lower front longitudinal member (5) and drill with Ø 6 mm bit (area O2 ).
  11. Expose self-piercing riveting on lower front longitudinal member (5) and drill with Ø 6 mm (area O1 ).

  12. Heat lower front longitudinal member (5) in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  13. Remove lower front longitudinal member (5).

  14. Mark separating point on outer A-pillar lower section (3) and longitudinal member outer shell (2) and cut (areas D and E).

    NOTES Do not make the cuts too deep.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    d = 10 mm

    e = approx. 20 mm

  15. Separate MIG solder seams on longitudinal member outer shell (2) (area F2 ).
  16. Expose spot welds on longitudinal member outer shell (2) and outer A-pillar bottom section (3) and cut out (areas G1 and G2 ).
  17. Drill out blind rivet on outer A-pillar bottom section (3) from inside (area I1 ).
  18. Separate MIG solder seams on outer A-pillar bottom section (3) from inside (area S).

  19. Heat outer A-pillar bottom section (3) and longitudinal member outer shell (2) in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  20. Remove outer A-pillar bottom section (3) and longitudinal member outer shell (2).

  21. Mark separating point on inner A-pillar (4) and cut (area C).

    NOTES Do not make the cuts too deep.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    c1 = approx. 115 mm

    c2 = approx. 85 mm

  22. Expose spot welds on inner A-pillar (4) and cut out (areas H1 and H2 ).
  23. Remove inner A-pillar (4).

  24. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  25. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

    NOTES Do not coat adhesive surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas M1 , M2 and M3 ).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
