	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	Remove
1	Remove rear engine mount.

	Clean
2	Clean area around drain screw (2), crash stop plug and oil level screw (3).
	Remove
3	Remove oil level screw (3) with crash stop plug from transfer case.	Dispose of old oil level screw (3). Otherwise, this may lead to leakage and consequential damage.
	Check
4	Check crash stop plug for damage and wear.	If problems occur, ↓ Replace crash stop plug.
	Drain off
5	Unscrew drain screw (2) on transfer case and drain oil.	Collect escaping oil in a suitable container. Damage can otherwise occur. 8 Dispose of old drain screw (2). Otherwise, this may lead to leakage and consequential damage.
	Clean
6	Clean threaded hole of drain screw (2) in transfer case.
	Install
7	Screw new drain screw (2) tightly into transfer case.	Replace drain screw (2) each time it is removed. Otherwise, this may lead to leakage and consequential damage.

8	Screw the adapter (4) with the sealing ring (5) into the threaded hole of the oil level screw (3)	Adapter	Fig 2
	Pour in
9	Add specified oil filling capacity to hand pump.	Transfer case oil	*BF28.10-P-1001-01F

10	Connect hand pump to adapter (4).	Hand pump	Fig 1

12	Disconnect hand pump from adapter (4).	Drain off excess oil. Damage can otherwise occur. Hand pump	Fig 1
		Adapter If less than 50 ml of oil flows out of the transfer case, ↓ fill 100 ml into hand pump and repeat operation step 11. If more than 50 ml of oil flows out of the transfer case, ↓ Transfer case is sufficiently filled, continue with operation step 13.	Fig 2
	Remove
13	Remove adapter (4) with the sealing ring (5) from the threaded hole of the oil level screw (3).	Adapter	Fig 2
	Clean
14	Clean threaded hole of oil level screw (3) in transfer case.
	Install
15	Tighten new oil level screw (3) at transfer case.	Replace oil level screw (3) each time it is unscrewed. Otherwise, this may lead to leakage and consequential damage.

16	Fit crash stop plug over the oil level screw (3) on transfer case.
17	Install rear engine mount.

18	Reset learned values in transfer case control unit using diagnostic system.
