Stationary Heater Control Unit, Component Description - GF83.70-P-4066LF
Model 217.3, 222
with code 228 (Auxiliary heater)
Shown model 222.0
Location
The stationary heater control unit is integrated in the stationary heater unit, which is located in the rear area of the right wheel arch.
Tasks
The stationary heater control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
- Transmitting signals
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B) (up to model year 2018)
- Air conditioning control LIN 2 (LIN B8-2) (as of model year 2018)
Direct line
The signals for the following components are read in directly:
- Stationary heater radio remote control receiver (A6/1) (with code B24 (Remote control for stationary heater)) (up to model year 2018)
- Stationary heater temperature sensor (A6b1)
- Stationary heater thermal fuse (A6f1)
- Stationary heater glow plug/flame monitor unit (A6r4)
If the temperature of T = 125°C is exceeded in the heater unit, the thermal fuse recognizes overheating via the temperature sensor and switches the stationary heater off with subsequent overheating locking.
Interior CAN (up to model year 2018)
The stationary heater control unit reads in, for example, the following information via the interior CAN:
- Heat/ventilate request
- Stationary heater switchover valve (Y16) request
Air conditioning control LIN 2 (as of model year 2018)
The stationary heater control unit also reads in the following information over the climate control LIN 2:
- Heat/ventilate request
- Stationary heater switchover valve request
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The following components are actuated via direct lines:
- Stationary heater combustion air blower (A6m2)
- Stationary heater radio remote control receiver (with code B24 (Remote control for stationary heater)) (up to model year 2018)
- Stationary heater glow plug/flame monitor unit
- Stationary heater coolant circulation pump (M13/6) (up to model year 2018)
- Stationary heater switchover valve
- Stationary heater fuel pump (Y23)
Transmitting signals
The signals are transmitted via the following connections:
- Interior CAN (up to model year 2018)
- Air conditioning control LIN 2 (as of model year 2018)
Interior CAN (up to model year 2018)
The stationary heater control unit sends, for example, the following information or requests via the interior CAN:
- Stationary heater status
- Diagnostic data
Air conditioning control LIN 2 (as of model year 2018)
The stationary heater control unit sends the following information or requests, among other things, via climate control LIN 2:
- Stationary heater status
- Diagnostic data
Variants
Engine variants:
- Gasoline engine
- Diesel engine (model 222)
