Model 222.004/057/104/157/163
Engine 157, 279, shown on engine 157
Vehicle with CODE 610 (Night View Assist)
Location
The instrument cluster (A1) is located in the dashboard on the driver-side.
Tasks
The instrument cluster has the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of warning tones and indicator tones
- Sending signals
Reading in of sensors and signals
The signals are read in by the instrument cluster via user interface CAN. The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see the appropriate block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Output of warning tones and indicator tones
The instrument cluster directly actuates the instrument cluster speaker (H4/61) in the driver footwell to issue warning and indicator tones which are requested by the systems installed in the vehicle.
Sending signals
The signals are sent by the instrument cluster via user interface CAN. The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see the appropriate block diagram or function schematic).
