Relieve body tension 

  1. Loosen bolts (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION between flexural member (G) and crash box (F).
  2. Loosen bolts (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION between crash box (F) and longitudinal member (C).
  3. Loosen bolts (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION between front axle carrier (H) at front and body.
  4. Measure suspension strut towers (A) at measuring points (4, 5, 6, 7) and enter values into checklist.

    NOTES Replace suspension strut towers (A) always  if cracks, folds or deformation are present.

    Otherwise the minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.

    IMPORTANT Reshaping or repairing not  permissible.

  5. Loosen bolts (10) TORQUE SPECIFICATION .

    NOTES Replace crossmember below windshield (B) always  in event of cracks, folds or deformation. Otherwise the minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.

    IMPORTANT To decrease possible tension.

  6. Measure crossmember below windshield (B) at measuring points (8, 9) and enter into checklist.

    IMPORTANT Measure measuring points (8, 9) directly to bolt head.

    IMPORTANT Reshaping or repairing not  permissible.

  7. Measure longitudinal members (C) at measuring points (11, 12) and enter values into checklist.

    NOTES Replace longitudinal members (C) always  if cracks or folds are present.

    Otherwise the minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.

    IMPORTANT Reshaping or repairing marginally  permissible.

  8. Measure longitudinal members (C1 ) at measuring points (13, 14) and enter values into checklist.

    NOTES Replace longitudinal member (C1 ) always  if cracks, folds or deformation are present.

    Otherwise the minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.

    IMPORTANT Reshaping or repairing not  permissible.

  9. Model 217.4

    Measure suspension strut tower with longitudinal member (F) at measuring points (15, 16, 17, 18) and enter into checklist.

    NOTES Replace suspension strut tower with longitudinal member (F) always  if cracks, folds or deformation are present.

    Otherwise the minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.

    IMPORTANT Reshaping or repairing not  permissible.

  10. Model 217.4

    Measure longitudinal member (G) at measuring points (19, 20) and enter values into checklist.

    NOTES Replace longitudinal member (G) always  if cracks or folds are present.

    Otherwise the minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.

    IMPORTANT Reshaping or repairing marginally  permissible.

  11. Model 217.4

    Measure mounting consoles (H) at measuring points (19, 20) and enter values into checklist.

    NOTES Always replace mounting consoles (H) if cracks or folds are present always  .

    Otherwise the minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.

    IMPORTANT Reshaping or repairing not  permissible.
