Height Adjustment Of Front Window - AR72.10-P-1950-05LCA

  1. Open front door.
  2. Position door lining on left and right front door and connect electrical connectors to front door control unit switch group.
  3. Switch on ignition.
  4. Move side window (1) to upper end position.
  5. Switch off ignition.
  6. Remove electrical connectors on front door control unit switch group and door lining.
  7. Glue duct tape (5) to side window (1) as shown at measuring points (A, B).

    IMPORTANTDimension C =345 mm 

    IMPORTANT Measuring point at height of transition between cover and windshield.

    IMPORTANT Measuring point at distance of dimension C to measuring point .

  8. Mark measuring point on duct tape (5).
  9. Mark measuring point on duct tape (5).
  10. Mark dimension (4) on measuring point marking from upper edge of side window (1) on duct tape (5) and mark line (3) parallel to upper edge of side window (1).

    IMPORTANTDimension (4) = 15 mm 

  11. Mark dimension (4) on measuring point marking from upper edge of side window (1) on duct tape (5) and mark line (3) parallel to upper edge of side window (1).

    IMPORTANT Dimension (4) = 15 mm

  12. Close front door.

    IMPORTANT Ensure that side window moves to the upper end position.

  13. SPECIAL TOOL Check insertion depth of side window (1) on measuring point with feeler gauge.

    IMPORTANT Check distance from line (3) on duct tape (5) to trim piece (6) with SPECIAL TOOL feeler gauge.

    Insertion depth of 7.5 mm is reached, if distance between line (3) and trim piece (6) is 7.5 mm.

    If test results deviate

    Adjust side window (1).

  14. Check insertion depth of side window (1) on measuring point with SPECIAL TOOL feeler gauge

    IMPORTANT Check distance from line (3) on duct tape (5) to trim piece (6) with SPECIAL TOOL feeler gauge.

    Insertion depth of 7.5 mm is reached, if distance between line (3) and trim piece (6) is 7.5 mm.

    If test results deviate

    Adjust side window (1).

    Illustrated on model 207.3 

  15. Insert screwdriver (11) between door paneling (12) and side window (1) into adjustment screw (arrow C) on front mount (14) of power window (13) and adjust height of window (1) by turning adjustment screw (arrow C).

    IMPORTANT Use very long screwdriver T25.

    IMPORTANT Procedure:

    Turning adjustment screw (arrow C) clockwise, lowers side window (1).

    Turning adjustment screw (arrow C) counterclockwise, raises side window (1).

  16. Insert screwdriver (11) between door paneling (12) and side window (1) into adjustment screw (arrow C) on rear mount (15) of power window (13) and adjust height of side window (1) by turning adjustment screw (arrow C).

    IMPORTANT Procedure:

    Turning adjustment screw (arrow D) clockwise, lowers side window (1).

    Turning adjustment screw (arrow D) counterclockwise, raises side window (1).

  17. Open front door.
  18. Position door lining on left and right front door and connect electrical connectors to front door control unit switch group.
  19. Switch on ignition.
  20. To check the settling properties of the side window (1), raise and lower side window several times and then close side window (1).
  21. Switch off ignition.
  22. Remove electrical connectors on right and left front door control unit switch group and door lining.
  23. Close front door.
  24. Perform test again, if required repeat adjustment procedure.
  25. After finishing test and adjustment procedure, remove dust tape (5) from side window (1).
