Check
- Model 217.3
Completely remove seal (2).
- Remove grommet above adjustment screw (7).
- Position door lining on left and right front door and connect electrical connectors to front door control unit switch group.
- Close front door.
- Switch on ignition.
- Move side window to upper end position.
- Switch off ignition.

Measure insertion depth of side window (1) in trim piece at measuring points (A, B).
Dimension C = 345 mm.
Measuring point A at height of cover in relation to windshield.
Measuring point B at a distance of 345 mm from measuring point A .
If actual dimensions deviate

Adjust side window (1).
- Check dimension (b) starting at edge of front door and install colored markings.

- Measure dimensions (c) with straight edge.

Adjust
- Remove electrical connectors on front door control unit switch group and door lining.
- Loosen nut (6) with
socket wrench and TORX bit T25H and adjust pretension o side window (1) by turning adjustment screw (7).
Adjust adjustment screw (7) only until the adjustment force increases perceptively. The maximum adjustment range is now reached and the adjustment screw (7) should not be turned further.
Otherwise the thread can be damaged.
Turning the adjustment screw (7) counterclockwise increases the side window tension (1) ("+").
Turning the adjustment screw (7) clockwise decreases the side window tension (1) ("-").
- Tighten nut (6) with
socket wrench and TORX-Bit T25H
When screwing on nut (6) ensure that adjustment screw (7) is not turned, otherwise it is necessary to readjust the initial side window tension (1).
- Install grommet above adjustment screw (7).
- Install gasket (2).
