Location 

The rear door control units are located on the corresponding door module behind the door trim.

Task 

The rear door control units have the following tasks:

• Reading in of sensors and signals 
• Evaluation of input factors 
• Actuation of components 

Reading in of sensors and signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

• Direct line 
• Left rear door LIN (LIN B9) 
• Right rear door LIN (LIN B10) 
• Interior CAN (CAN B) 

Direct line 

The left rear door control unit reads in the signals from the following components over direct lines:

• Left rear door power closing microswitch actuator motor (A85/3s1) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
• Left rear door main catch microswitch (A85/3s2)
• Left rear door inside door handle microswitch (A85/3s3) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
• Left rear door external operation microswitch (A85/3s4) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
• Left rear door tweeter Hall sensor (H4/70) (with code 811 (Advanced Sound System) and code 877 (Ambient lighting))
• Left rear power window motor Hall sensor (M10/5) (up to model year 2018 (except code Z13 (Left rear power window for special protection)))
• Left rear door power closing microswitch (M14/23s1) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
• Left rear seat armrest heating element temperature sensor (R16/7b1) (with code 907 (Rear armrest heater))
• Left rear door power window switch (S21/3) (except code 297 (Roller sun blinds in rear doors) and except code 540 (Electric roller sun blind for rear window) and except code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof))

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

The rear door control units connect the connected control elements with circuit 58d.
