| Close soft top with emergency actuation | |||
| 1 | Open trunk lid | ||
| 2 | Unclip right trunk lamp (5) and left trunk lamp (6) | ||
| 3 | Pull left and right emergency actuation cable (8) of soft top compartment and unlock soft top compartment lid | ||
| 4 | Completely close trunk lid | Open soft top compartment lid only when trunk lid is closed completely. Failure to observe this can lead to paint damage. |

| 5 | Open soft top compartment cover and secure with locking tools (14) | ||
| 6 | Close soft top manually | ||
| 7 | Position soft top bow upright | ||
| 8 | Chisel off rivet (12) and remove tensioning cable bracket (7) | ||
| 9 | Unclip ball socket (9) on left and right hinge arm (11) and set down hydraulic cylinder (10) in soft top compartment | ||
| 10 | Unclip trim (13) from center front soft top and pull slightly downward | ||
| 11 | Turn drive shaft (1) of front soft top lock motor (M47/1) and move linkage (2) to end stop until soft top locks | ||
| 12 | Clip in trim (13) | ||
| 13 | Remove locking tools (14) from hinges of soft top compartment cover | Before closing soft top compartment cover, remove locking tools (14) for fixing in place the soft top compartment cover. Where this is not complied with, the hinges and soft top compartment cover are damaged. |

| 14 | Close soft top compartment lid | ||
| 15 | Lower soft top bow | ||
| 16 | Lock soft top bow; for this purpose, attach assembly levers (3) on relay levers (4) on both sides and press assembly levers (3) upward until relay levers (4) noticeably engage | The soft top must be manually moved to the starting position again before further repair measures on the soft top or before commissioning of the soft top automatic mechanism. Where this is not complied with, the soft top mechanical components, automatic mechanism may be damaged. |
