| 1 | Remove voltage of high-voltage on-board electrical system. | Model 223 with engine 256 with code ME10 (Hybrid vehicle (plug-in, PHEV)) |

| 2 | Deactivate easy entry and exit feature for steering wheel. | Model 223 with code 275 (Memory Package (driver's seat, steering column and mirror)) |

| 3 | Turn steering gear (1) to center position (front wheels in straight-ahead position) and fix steering wheel in place using holding device. | Do not turn steering wheel when steering coupling (2) is removed. Otherwise the clock spring contact will be destroyed. |

| Move steering gear (1) to center position. |
