Rear CROSSMEMBER Section Below Front Seat Preparation - Ar63.40-P-1189-08S

Model 223.0/1/9 

The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle for model 223.1 and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle in the event of damage.

The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Cut out spot welds on rear crossmember (1) (areas A).
2. Remove mounting support from rear crossmember (1).

3. Grind mating surfaces on rear crossmember (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

4. Grind mating surfaces on rear crossmember (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

5. Remove grinding dust.
