The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle for model 223.1 and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle in the event of damage.

The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Mark separating points on B-pillar paneling (1) and separate (areas A, B, C).

   Transfer separation points from vehicle.

2. Grind mating surfaces on B-pillar paneling (1) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas (areas D, E).

   Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal on both sides (areas D).

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces (areas E).

3. Remove grinding dust.
