The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle for model 223.1 with the B-pillar removed and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle in the event of damage.

The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

The graphics show the vehicle from the perspective of the technician. This perspective also specifies the direction in which the rivets must be installed.

1. Transfer existing holes in body to mounting support (2) using drill hole finder (area A).
2. Install mounting support (2), fit, and fix in place.
3. Drill rivet holes on mounting console (2) with Ø 6.7 mm (area A).
4. Remove mounting support (2).
5. Drill rivet holes in mounting console (2) and deburr on body on both sides.
6. Remove drilling chips.

7. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched area.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

8. Install mounting console (2), fit and fix in place.
9. Rivet mounting support (2) with Ø 6.5x12.5 rivets (area Y₂ ).
10. Rivet mounting support (2) with Ø 6.5x14.5 rivets (area Y₃ ).
