The next steps are shown on model 223.1.

The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Insert roof spacer blocks on the undamaged side between center roof paneling (1) and side roof paneling and adjust to dimension.

   During installation, the center roof paneling (1) can be fitted with the adjusted roof spacer blocks.

2. Mark positions of the roof spacer blocks on the vehicle and write down dimensions.
3. Determine dimensions between outer edge of center roof paneling (1) and outer edge of front and rear crossmember.
4. Mark positions of measuring points on vehicle and note dimensions.

5. Cut center roof paneling (1) (areas A).

   Mask side roof paneling with adhesive tape.

   Otherwise paint damage can be caused by cutting.

6. Cut bonding on center roof paneling (1) with cutting wire (areas B).

   Do not make the cuts too deep.

   Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

7. Remove section from center roof paneling (1).
8. Cut adhesive beads on remaining section of center roof paneling with suitable tool (areas C).

   The center roof paneling section can be heated. Ensure that a temperature of 120°C is not exceeded.

   Otherwise the structure of the adhesive areas below can change.

9. Remove adhesive material from body (areas C).

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
