Upper Front Longitudinal Member Partial Removal - Ar62.20-P-1287-01S
Model 223
The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle for model 223.1 and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle in the event of damage.
The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Expose self-piercing rivets on upper front longitudinal member (1) and on lower front longitudinal member (2) and drill out with Ø 6 mm (areas A).
- Expose screws (3) on the upper front longitudinal member (1) and remove.
- Heat upper front longitudinal member (1) and lower front longitudinal member (2) in cross-hatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove upper front longitudinal member (1) and lower front longitudinal member (2).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Remove grinding dust.
