Longitudinal Member Reinforcement Removal - Ar62.20-P-1243-01S

Model 223.0/1/9 

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on model 223.1 on the left side of the vehicle and must be similarly performed on the right side of the vehicle in the event of damage.

The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

  1. Expose screws at longitudinal member reinforcement (1) and remove (areas A).
  2. Expose spot welds at longitudinal member reinforcement (1) and cut off (areas B).
  3. Expose spot weld at longitudinal member reinforcement (1) and drill off with Ø 6.5 mm (area C).

  4. Heat longitudinal member reinforcement (1) in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  5. Remove longitudinal member reinforcement (1).

  6. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  7. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
