Bonding surfaces must be free from dust, oil, grease, wax, dirt residues and other adhesive components.
Otherwise, there may be adhesion problems.
Only use the adhesive kit indicated in the XENTRY Portal parts information.
- Cut back adhesive beads (1) at body flange to a residual height of approx. 1 to 2 mm using a scraper.
- Remove cutting residues from body flange.
- Repair paint damage on body flange.
Only use Daimler AG approved primer fillers: https://xentry.daimler.com
Observe the manufacturer's specifications for the curing and processing time of the primer filler.
- Clean adhesive beads (1) at body flange.
- Apply primer in case of missing residual adhesive material in bonding area.
Apply primer only after primer has dried. Otherwise the strength of the adhesive connection can be impaired and proper adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
- Once primer has dried, glue new spacers (2) onto body flanges.
