The following work procedure describes the retrofit on the left side of the vehicle. Retrofitting on the right side of the vehicle is performed in the same way. The animation projectors (1) are marked in the area of the A-object number with an "L" for the left side and "R" for the right side.
- Slide foam material (3.1) backward and attach black 2-pin coupling of vehicle wiring harness to black plug of adapter line (3).
- Slide foam material (3.1) over black 2-pin coupling of vehicle wiring harness and black plug of adapter line (3).
- Attach black 2-pin coupling (3.2) of adapter line (3) to exit and warning lamp with animation projector (1).
- Switch on warning and exit illumination at overhead control panel control unit.
The heat sink installed on the exit and warning lamp with animation projector (1) gets very warm.
If the exit and warning lamp with animation projector (1) does not light up:

Exchange contact cavity assignment of electric lines at black 2-pin coupling (3.2) of adapter line (3).
The appropriate tool is available in the
basic wiring harness repair kit or the
supplementary passenger car wiring harness repair kit.
- Switch off warning and exit illumination at overhead control panel control unit.
- Install exit and warning lamp with animation projector (1) in cutout of door trim.
Do not pinch or crush vehicle wiring harness and adapter line (3).
Otherwise, there may be damage to the vehicle wiring harness or the adapter line (3) and there may be system failures.
Install exit and warning lamp with animation projector (1) with white diffuser lens downward. Ensure that catch hooks (arrows) are seated and engaged correctly in the door trim.
