Location 

The front passenger seat adjustment with memory control unit (N32/6) is located at the bottom on the seat frame of the front passenger seat.

Task 

The front passenger seat adjustment with memory control unit (N32/6) has the following tasks:

• Voltage supply for heated seats
• Providing the power supply for the front passenger seat lumbar support adjustment control unit (N32/24)
• Control of the seat adjustment
• Saves memory settings

The tasks are subdivided as follows:

• Reading in of signals 
• Evaluation of signals 
• Actuation of components 

Reading in of signals 

Signals are read in via the following connections:

• Direct line 
• Interior CAN (CAN B) 

Direct line 

The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:

• Seat fore/aft adjustment Hall sensor, front passenger seat (M28/1b1)
• Height adjustment Hall sensor, front passenger seat (M28/2b1)
• Hall sensor inclination adjustment, front passenger seat (M28/3b1)
• Head restraint adjustment Hall sensor, front passenger seat (M28/4b1)
• Backrest inclination Hall sensor, front passenger seat (M28/5b1)

Interior CAN (CAN B) 

The following signals are read in via the interior CAN (CAN B):

• Seat heater request
• Seat adjustment request
• Save or retrieve memory position request

The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of signals 

The signals that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the corresponding components are then actuated.

Actuation of components 

The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:

• Direct line 
• Interior CAN (CAN B) 

Direct line 

The following components are actuated via direct lines:

• Front passenger seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M28/1)
• Front passenger seat height adjustment motor (M28/2)
• Front passenger seat inclination adjustment motor (M28/3)
• Front passenger seat head restraint adjustment motor (M28/4)
• Front passenger seat backrest inclination adjustment motor (M28/5)
• Front passenger seat cushion heater pad (R13/3)
• Front passenger seat backrest heater pad (R13/4)

Interior CAN (CAN B) 

The following signals are transmitted via the interior CAN (CAN B):

• Seat heater status
• Seat position status
• Request for acknowledge tone after storage of memory position
