The electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit (N73) sends the status of circuit 15 via interior CAN (CAN B) to the automatic air conditioning (AAC [KLA]) control unit (N154).
The CDI control unit (N3/33) or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/34) sends the "Engine running" signal via chassis CAN (CAN E), electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit and interior CAN to the automatic air conditioning (AAC [KLA]) control unit.

The CDI control unit (N3/33) (with engine 651) or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/34) (with engine 274) or the CDI control unit (N3/36) (with engine 622) sends the "Engine running" signal via the chassis CAN, electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit and interior CAN to the air conditioning control and operating unit (Front and rear AAC [KLA]).
Climate control, general
4 different climate control versions are installed:
- Climate control with 1-zone temperature control with CODE HH9 (Semi-automatically controlled air conditioning, TEMPMATIC)
- Climate control with 2-zone temperature control with code HH9 (Semi-automatically controlled air conditioning, TEMPMATIC) and with code HZ7 (Semi-automatically controlled air conditioning, TEMPMATIC in rear):
- Climate control with 2-zone temperature control with CODE HH4 (THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control)
- Climate control with 3-zone temperature control with code HH4 (THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control) and with code HZ7 (Semi-automatically controlled air conditioning, TEMPMATIC in rear):
Regulation and control are performed in each case by the automatic air conditioning (AAC [KLA]) control unit (model 447.8, model 448.8).
