  Remove voltage     
1 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m).    
2 Detach battery charger power supply plug (1) from 230 V feed socket (2). If the battery charger power supply plug (1) is connected.  
3 Close cap (3) and secure connection of battery charger power supply plug (1) against being reconnected with warning sign (4). SPECIAL TOOL Warning label Fig 1
4 Check measuring instrument (5) for damage according to manufacturer's specifications and then check for proper operation at a 230 V socket (6) in the workshop.

REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 07 19 00 Measuring instrument IMPORTANT Ensure that the measuring instrument (5) is functioning properly before starting the tests as per the manufacturer's specifications.
If there is a problem,

Replace measuring instrument (5).

5 Connect measuring instrument (5) to 230 V socket (7) as shown and check for absence of voltage. If there is a problem,

Diagnose and eliminate cause.
 
  Put into operation     
6 Remove warning sign (4) from cap (3).    
7 Remove adhesive residue from warning sign (4). If required.

8 Connect battery charger power supply plug (1) to 230 V feed socket (2). If the battery charger power supply plug (1) was connected.
