Calibrate Reversing Camera - AR54.65-S-0030-01EA
Model 447, 448
With Code FR8 (Rear view camera)
With Code XM0 (Facelift)
Vehicle diagnosis system is connected.
Shown on left side of vehicle
- Park vehicle on a setting station for headlamp adjustment.
- Move steering to straight-ahead position.
- Determine center of front axle, as shown, using cross line laser (1.1) of
calibration device.
- Mark center of front axle, as shown, on a strip of adhesive tape (2) attached to floor (arrow A).
- Set alignment tool (1) of
calibration device vertically on a level surface and clamp connecting arms (1.2) in a horizontal position.
- Place alignment tool (1), as shown, centrally under rear area of vehicle so that connecting arms (1.2) make contact with the rear wheels.
- Mount motif plate (1.4) of
calibration device, as shown, onto T-piece (1.3) of
calibration device.
The arrows on the side edge of the motif plate (1.4) must point in the direction of travel.
- Screw holder (1.5) of
calibration device, as shown, onto cross line laser (1.1), align on vehicle center and mount.
Model 447, 448 with code W65 (Tailgate)
Make sure that the cross line laser (1.1) is aligned centrally on the tailgate.
The center of the Mercedes star (3) is the reference point for the vehicle center.
Model 447, 448 with code W50 (Two-wing rear-end door, 180 degrees without window) or with code W54 (Two-wing rear-end door, 270 degrees)
Make sure that the cross line laser (1.1) is aligned centrally between the rear-end doors.
The holder (1.5) is magnetic.

- Determine outermost end of vehicle using cross line laser (1.1).
The outermost end of the vehicle corresponds to the start of the laser beam (vehicle longitudinal axis) (5) (arrow B). The outermost end of the vehicle depends on the vehicle equipment, e.g. bumper, trailer hitch, etc.
- Move T-piece (1.3) with motif plate (1.4) in longitudinal direction until dimension (D) between start of laser beam (vehicle longitudinal axis) (5) (arrow B) and center of motif plate (1.4) (arrow C) is 45 cm.
Make sure that the T-piece (1.3), as shown, is positioned centrally under the laser beam (vehicle longitudinal axis) of the cross line laser (1.1).
The laser beam (vehicle longitudinal axis) (5) must hit the two markings (arrow E) of the motif plate (1.4).
- Determine and note down distance dimension (G) parallel to vehicle longitudinal axis.
The distance between the front axle center marking (arrow A) and the center line (arrow F) of the motif plate (1.4) forms the distance dimension (G).
The distance dimension (G) is entered in the diagnostic system during calibration.
- Perform calibration of reversing camera using diagnostic system.
The calibration with the vehicle diagnosis system is menu-assisted.
- After completing calibration, disconnect diagnostic system and remove all separate parts of
calibration device.
