System errors are indicated in the display (16) or by constant illumination of the respective indicator or warning lamps.
- Switch on ignition and check indicator and warning lamps and display (16) for proper operation.
To do so, the engine hood, all doors and the liftgate must be closed.
The following indicator and warning lamps (if installed) must light up:

- Steering warning lamp (4)
- Supplemental restraint system warning lamp (5)
- Seat belt warning lamp (6)
- Fuel reserve warning lamp (9)
- Standing lights indicator lamp (10)
- Tire pressure monitor warning lamp (13)
- Electronic Stability Program OFF warning lamp (14)
- Electronic Stability Program warning lamp (15)
- Engine diagnosis indicator lamp (17)
- Preglowing indicator lamp (18)
- Parking brake warning lamp (19)
- Brake system warning lamp (20)
- Sport transmission mode indicator lamp (21)
- Coolant temperature warning lamp (22)
- Regenerative braking system indicator lamp (23)
- Brake system indicator lamp (24)

Start engine and check that indicator and warning lamps have switched off.

Activate drive system and check that indicator and warning lamps go out.
- Model 447 with engine 254, 274, 622, 651, 654 Model 448
- Check all further indicator and warning lamps for proper operation.
- Left turn signal light indicator lamp (1)
- Right turn signal light indicator lamp (2)
- High beams indicator lamp (7)
- Low beams indicator lamp (8)
- Front fog lamp indicator lamp (11)
- Rear fog light indicator lamp (12)
- Switch off ignition.
