Location
The rear PARKTRONIC warning element (A44/3) (with CODE V36 (Headliner)) is located in the center rear on the headliner above the rear window.
The left front PARKTRONIC warning element (A44/7) (except CODE V36 (Headliner)) is located on the left side on the instrument panel.
The right front PARKTRONIC warning element (A44/8) (except CODE V36 (Headliner)) is located on the right side on the instrument panel.
The center front PARKTRONIC warning element (A44/9) (model 447, model 448) is located in the center on the instrument panel.
Task
The PARKTRONIC warning elements visualize the following situations of the parking system:
- Obstacle detection:
During obstacle detection, the distances are initially signaled visually to the driver by the yellow display elements lighting up, then by the red display elements lighting up and also by an acoustic warning issued by the integrated transducer.
- Standby:
Standby status means that the parking system is active but currently unable to detect an obstacle. The measurement readiness display lights up.
- Self-test:
For this, all display elements are fully actuated for 0.5 s.
- Malfunction:
If malfunction occurs during operation, this is indicated by the lighting up of the red display elements. No warning chime is emitted.
- Fault:
If a fault occurs during operation, this is indicated by the red display elements lighting up. In addition a warning tone is emitted for 2 seconds.
On MODEL 447.8, the conditions described above are also displayed in the multifunction display (A1/1p13).
Body
The PARKTRONIC warning elements consist of five yellow and two red display elements on each side, and measurement readiness display and the integrated transducer.
