Illustration shows Model 447.8
Location
The instrument cluster (IC) control unit (A1/1) is located on the instrument panel on the driver side.
Task
The instrument cluster_(IC) control unit is responsible for the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of warning tones and indicator tones
- Output of signals
Reading in of sensors and signals
The instrument cluster (IC) control unit reads in the input factors via the following CAN:
- Model 447.6/7
- Chassis CAN (CAN E)
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
- Model 447.8
- User interface CAN (CAN HMI)
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Output of warning tones and indicator tones
The instrument cluster_(IC) control unit actuates the instrument cluster speaker (H4/61) in the driver footwell to issue warning and indicator tones that are requested by the systems installed in the vehicle.
Output of signals
Signals are output via chassis CAN or interior CAN (model 447.6/7) or user interface CAN (model 447.8).
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
