Parameterizable special module (PSM) function

The parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit (N26/16) forms the interface between the vehicle and the bodybuilder manufacturer electronics. Information is exchanged here via 4 CAN connections: Interior CAN (CAN B), bodybuilder manufacturer CAN (CAN ABH), Multifunction CAN (model 907, 910) or CAN for multifunctions (model 447, 448) (CAN K) and CAN 2 for user interface (model 907, 910) or user interface CAN 2 (model 447, 448) (CAN HMI2).

The vehicle status can be read and vehicle functions (e.g. engine speed) controlled by the bodybuilder manufacturer electronics via the parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit (N26/16) and via CAN.

Furthermore, analog and digital inputs and various digital outputs are available to the bodybuilder manufacturer; these are described in more detail in the following chapters.

INPUTS CAN BE DIVIDED INTO TWO CATEGORIES:

MFE_ANALOG_INPUT 8 low-active inputs
(for parameterization as a digital input)
with switchable pull-up resistor, wake-up capable
  1 high-active input
(for parameterization as a digital input)
with pull-down resistor
MFE_DIGITAL_INPUT 8 low-active inputs with pull-up resistor, wake-up capable
  8 high-active inputs with pull-down resistor, wake-up capable

IMPORTANT The analog inputs can also be parameterized e.g. so that they can also be used as digital inputs.

MFE ANALOG INPUT parameterizable as:

Multifunction outputs (MFA)

The parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit (N26/16) has a total of 25 discrete outputs. These MFAs can be configured individually.

It should be noted that not all MFAs offer the same options.

However, all outputs can be parameterized so that they "flash" on activation ("Soft PWM", maximum frequency 10 Hz).

Special PWM outputs are available for higher frequencies.

MFA_POWER 2 high-side outputs with operating current 10 A
  2 high-side outputs with operating current 5 A
MFA_PWM 2 low-side outputs with operating current 1 A PWM-capable
  5 high-side outputs with operating current 0.5 A PWM-capable
  4 low-side outputs with operating current 0.5 A PWM-capable
MFA_ASYMMETRIC_HALF_ BRIDGE 4 asymmetric half bridges with operating current 5 A PWM-capable
MFA_RELAY 2 relay outputs with 1 A each

IMPORTANT l outputs can hold their respective rated load for an unlimited time. The simultaneous use of all rated currents at all outputs is also permissible.

IMPORTANT One of the eight MFA_PWM*-'0.5 A outputs' can be loaded with up to 0.6 A, provided that the others have a maximum of 0.5 A and the sum of the currents of these eight outputs does not exceed 4 A.

* 4 high-side (MFA_09 - MFA_12) and 4 low-side (MFA_15 - MFA_18)

In addition to the interface modules listed above, additional modules are available to the user for implementing the desired vehicle function:

The functionality of the parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit (N26/16) is defined and adapted to the corresponding body by the parameterization of individual modules. The parameterization of the parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit (N26/16) can be performed via the "SCN coding" menu item (on-line) for special equipment codes (SA code) available ex factory. Parameterization via the expert coding is required for all other adjustments.

The SA codes available ex factory for model 907 are:

The SA codes for model 910 available ex factory are:

The SA codes available ex factory for model 447/448 are:
