Battery test with Midtronics 

The battery models used by Mercedes-Benz (wet-cell and fleece battery) are tested using the Midtronics battery test device.

Starter or on-board electrical system batteries in models 907 and 910 must be checked using XENTRY Diagnosis. Refer to SI54.10-D-0074SG document.

Auxiliary batteries with cold test current details (model 907/910) must still be tested using the Midtronics.

Auxiliary batteries without cold-discharge test current details (such as Emergency-P battery (G1/13) in model 447 or model 907/910) cannot be tested using Midtronics. On these only the voltage can be checked.

New operation items simplify warranty processing.

The battery data and the test code (except Emergency-P battery (G1/13) in model 447 or model 907/910) may already be registered on the repair order. This means that there is no need to fill out the "Test sheet for on-board electrical system batteries".

These operation items replace the following operation items:

• 54 1105 Check battery for capacity and condition.
• 54 1107 Check batteries (both) for capacity and condition.

The procedure given in the article WR 04-02-020 from the Extended Warranty Manual Retail (EWMR) or from the Warranty Manual Wholesale (WMW) must be observed when submitting a warranty and goodwill claim.

The Midtronics printout must be filed in a tamperproof manner (except for Emergency-P battery (G1/13) in model 447 or model 907/910).

Special feature, model 415:  The manufacture date on the on-board electrical system battery (G1) is not on the terminal, but rather stamped into the housing. The stamped manufacture date for the on-board electrical system battery (1) is normally on the upper edge of the housing.
