- Install contact sockets (2) on
brown/red CAN line and brown CAN line of CAN cable (1) in supplied plug housing (5).
Slot assignment of the contact sockets (2) in the plug housing (5): Brown/red CAN line in slot 1, brown CAN line in slot 2.
The following operation steps describe installation on a left-hand drive vehicle. With right-hand drive vehicles these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.
- Install plug housing (5) of CAN cable (1) in interior CAN (CAN B) potential distributor electrical connector (X30/26).
Use a free slot on the interior CAN (CAN B) potential distributor electrical connector (X30/26).
- Route CAN cable (1), as shown, from interior CAN (CAN B) potential distributor electrical connector (X30/26) to radio pre-installation electrical connector (X39/67) in instrument panel.
Do not kink the CAN cable (1) and ensure chafe-free routing.
This will prevent damage occurring.
- Secure CAN cable (1) section by section to factory-installed electrical wiring harness using cable ties.
- Remove black/yellow line (6) and gray/blue line (7) from radio pre-installation electrical connector (X39/67).
Use basic wiring harness repair kit.
- Wrap black/yellow line (6) and gray/blue line (7) in insulation tape and secure to radio pre-installation electrical connector (X39/67) using insulation tape.
- Install brown CAN line of CAN cable (1) in radio pre-installation electrical connector (X39/67).
To do so, use the slot of the black/yellow line (6).
- Install brown/red CAN line of CAN cable (1) in radio pre-installation electrical connector (X39/67).
To do so, use the slot of the gray/blue line (7).
