Check Wiper Arms - AR82.30-S-6000-01E

Model 447, 448 

WARNING Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism. When working on the windshield wiper mechanism, always switch off the ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m). AS82.30-Z-0001-01A

Shown on passenger-side wiper arm (2) 

IMPORTANT Use the following special tools:

SPECIAL TOOL Angle gauge (A) from SPECIAL TOOL adjustment tool set (211 589 02 21 00) SPECIAL TOOL Adapter (B) (205 589 00 21 00)

  1. Insert SPECIAL TOOL adapter (B) into guide of SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A) and fix in place with screw at SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A).
  2. Fold up passenger-side wiper arm (2) and attach SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A) together with SPECIAL TOOL adapter (B) to wiper blade mount.
  3. Lower passenger-side wiper arm (2) until all three contact points on the base of the SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A) make contact with the windshield.
  4. Read off angle of incidence of passenger-side wiper arm (2) on scale of SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A) and note down.
  5. SPECIAL TOOL Remove angle gauge (A) together with SPECIAL TOOL adapter (B) from passenger-side wiper arm (2).
  6. Repeat test procedure for driver side wiper arm.
  7. Move wiper arms to parked position and repeat testing procedure for driver-side wiper arm (2) and driver-side wiper arm.

    NOTES When changing from reversing position to parking position, make sure that the passenger-side wiper arm (2) and driver-side wiper arm do not make direct contact with the windshield. Otherwise the windshield may be damaged.

  8. Compare recorded check values with adjustment values.
