General
The driver camera control unit (N168/1) is installed behind the instrument panel.
Function
The driver camera control unit (N168/1) has the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
- Transmission of requests and information
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- User interface CAN (CAN-HMI)
Direct line
The signal from the driver camera (B84/30) is read in over a direct line.
User interface CAN (CAN-HMI)
The following signals are read in over the user interface CAN (CAN-HMI):
- Status of ignition lock from electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73/8)
- Steering wheel angle from electrical power steering (ES) control unit (N68) over the electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73/8)
- Vehicle longitudinal speed from Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit (N2/5)
- Status of on-board electrical system battery from signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) control unit (N10/1) over electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73/8)
- Status of deep discharge protection from signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) control unit (N10/1) over electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73/8)
- Status of front doors from left front door control unit (N69/3), right front door control unit (N69/4) over signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) control unit (N10/1) and over electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73/8)
Evaluation of input factors
The read-in input factors are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor, the relevant components are then actuated and requests/information are output.
Actuation of components
The driver camera (B84/30) is actuated directly.
Transmission of requests and information
The following requests and information are output over the user interface CAN (CAN-HMI):
- Detection of driver through various comparisons (e.g. mouth opening, etc.) to the electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73/8)
- Detection of extended eyelid closures/degree of eyelid closure to the electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73/8)
- Head rotation to the electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73/8)
