Audio/COMAND operating instructions, general
This description attempts to present operation for the full functional scope of the radio (Audio) (N87/2) while taking all the vehicle's standard and special equipment, as known at the copy deadline, into account. National-specific and equipment-specific deviations hereto are possible.
Audio/COMAND operating instructions
The functions and menu navigation for the driver information system are shown on the radio's (audio) integrated display.
The driver information system can be operated either directly using the buttons and the control on the radio (Audio) or using the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and the right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) (with CODE CL4 (Multifunction steering wheel with trip computer)).
The driver information system can be operated with the following controls:
- Buttons on radio (Audio)
- Left multifunction steering wheel button group and right multifunction steering wheel button group (With Code CL4 (Multifunction steering wheel with trip computer)
- Voice control system (VCS) (With Code E1N (Becker MAP PILOT) and CODE EN7 (Audio 15))
Buttons on radio (Audio)
The following controls are available on the radio (Audio):
- Left button group for calling up menus
- Left rotary push-button: "ON" button for switching volume control on and off
- Right navigation field: 4-way buttons with rotary push-button, "Back" button, "CLEAR" button
- 12-key keypad, right
Left multifunction steering wheel button group and right multifunction steering wheel button group (With Code CL4 (Multifunction steering wheel with trip computer)
The multifunction steering wheel button groups are located on the multifunction steering wheel and can be used by the driver to operate the functions of the driver information system without removing his/her hands from the steering wheel. User guidance is provided on the instrument cluster (IC) control unit (A1/1).
Voice control system (VCS) (With Code E1N (Becker MAP PILOT) and CODE EN7 (Audio 15))
The VCS is switched-on on the right multifunction steering wheel button group and switched off on the left multifunction steering wheel button group. When the voice control system is switched on, many navigation system functions can be operated using voice commands in dialog with the VCS [SBS]. The system can be operated by spelling out or entering complete words.
