Model 447.6/7/8
with code LG2 (LED Intelligent Light System)
Model 448.8
with code LG2 (LED Intelligent Light System)
Shown on right front LED lamp unit (E2/1)
Location
The left headlamp control unit and the left front actuation module, LED exterior lighting are located on the left front LED lamp unit; the right headlamp control unit and the right front actuation module, LED exterior lighting are located on the right front LED lamp unit.
The headlamp control units and the actuation modules, LED exterior lighting are tightly screwed to the housing of the respective front LED lamp unit. The headlamp control units are connected to the vehicle-side wiring harness via the respective front LED lamp unit.
Task
The headlamp control units communicate with one another via front end CAN (CAN G). As the master, the left headlamp control unit synchronizes the right headlamp control unit.
The headlamp control units have the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line (headlamp-internal)
- Left headlamp LIN (LIN G1)
- Right headlamp LIN (LIN G2)
- Front end CAN
Direct line (headlamp-internal)
The following components are read in by the left headlamp control unit via direct line:
- Left active curve light position sensor (E1/1b1)
- Front axle level sensor (B22/2)
- Rear axle level sensor (B22/3)
The following components are read in by the right headlamp control unit via direct line:
- Right active curve light position sensor (E2/1 b1)
Left and right headlamp LIN
The following information is read in by the left headlamp control unit via the left headlamp LIN:
- Diagnostic data from the left front actuation module, LED exterior lighting
The following information is read in by the right headlamp control unit via the right headlamp LIN:
- Diagnostic data from the right front actuation module, LED exterior lighting
Front end CAN
The signals are read in by the headlamp control units via the front end CAN.
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The following functions are realized by actuating the appropriate components:
- Low beam
- Turn signal lamp
- High beam and headlamp flasher
- Automatic headlamp range control (HRA)
- Standing/parking/daytime running lights
- Cornering illumination
- Intelligent Light System
- Automatic high beams assistant
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
- Direct line (headlamp-internal)
- Left headlamp LIN
- Right headlamp LIN
Direct line (headlamp-internal)
The following components are actuated by the left headlamp control unit via a direct line:
- Left front turn signal light (E1/1e5)
- Left cornering light (E1/1e9)
- Left active curve illumination position sensor
- Left headlamp range adjustment actuator motor (E1/1m1)
- Left active curve light actuator motor (E1/1 m2)
- Left light distribution actuator motor (E1/1m3)
The following components are actuated by the right headlamp control unit via a direct line:
- Right front turn signal light (E2/1e5)
- Right cornering light (E2/1e9)
- Right active curve illumination position sensor
- Right headlamp range adjustment actuator motor (E2/1m1)
- Right active curve light actuator motor (E2/1 m2)
- Right light distribution actuator motor (E2/1 m3)
Left and right headlamp LIN
The following component is actuated by the left headlamp control unit via the left headlamp LIN:
- Actuation module for left front exterior lights LED
The following component is actuated by the right headlamp control unit via the right headlamp LIN:
- Actuation module for right front exterior lights LED
