Function
Depending on the equipment installed, the ambient lighting is controlled by the vehicle occupants using either the touchpad/lower control panel, the central display or the microphone.
Depending on the actuation involved, the signal is forwarded by the respective component part to the head unit/instrument cluster control unit, Supplemental Restraint System control unit, integrated rear right outer radar sensor or the central operating unit.
The central operating unit has a direct CAN connection to the ambient lighting control unit.
The head unit/instrument cluster control unit, the Supplemental Restraint System control unit or the integrated rear right outer radar sensor in turn are connected to the electronic ignition lock control unit over a CAN connection. The electronic ignition lock control unit then forwards the information over a CAN connection to the ambient lighting control unit.
