Observe safety information in the superordinate service document.

IMPORTANT The next steps are shown on the component parts on the left side of the vehicle on model 447 with code T19 (left sliding door) and must be carried out in the same way on the right side of the vehicle in the event of damage.

  1. Expose spot welds on the angle bracket (2) (area A).
  2. Cut out spot welds on the angle bracket (2) (area A).
  3. Remove angle bracket (2) from the complete sliding door entrance (1).

    IMPORTANT The angle bracket (2) is reinstalled after the installation of the complete sliding door entrance (1).

  4. Remove shavings and milling chips.

  5. Punch holes in the complete sliding door entrance (1) with a diameter of 7 mm (areas C and D).
  6. Drill holes in the compete sliding door entrance (1) with a diameter of 7 mm (areas B and E).
  7. Deburr holes on the complete sliding door entrance (1) on both sides.
  8. Grind mating surfaces on the complete sliding door entrance (1) down to bare metal around the holes (areas B, C, D, and E).
  9. Remove shavings and drill chips.
  10. Grind mating surfaces on the complete sliding door entrance (1) down to bare metal in the crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  11. Remove shavings.

  12. Grind mating surfaces on the complete sliding door entrance (1) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  13. Remove shavings.
  14. Grind mating surfaces on the complete sliding door entrance (1) down to bare metal in the crosshatched areas and around the holes.
  15. Remove shavings.
  16. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

  17. Punch holes in the mounting support (3) with a diameter of 7 mm (areas F, G, H, I, J, K, and L).
  18. Grind mating surface on the mounting support (3) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched area and around the holes (areas F, G, H, I, J, K, and L).
  19. Remove shavings.

  20. Drill holes on the mounting supports (4) with a diameter of 7 mm (areas M and N).
  21. Grind down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas and around the holes (areas M and N).
  22. Remove shavings and drill chips.
  23. Drill holes on the entrance step module (5) with a diameter of 7 mm (areas O, P and Q).
  24. Grind areas around the holes (areas O, P, and Q) down to bare metal.
  25. Remove shavings and drill chips.
  26. Deburr holes on the entrance step module (5) on both sides.
  27. Remove shavings and drill chips.

  28. Grind mating surfaces on the longitudinal member (6) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
  29. Grind areas around the holes (areas R, S, and T) down to bare metal.
  30. Remove shavings and drill chips.
  31. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
  32. Drill holes in the angle bracket (2) with a diameter of 7 mm (area U).
  33. Grind mating surfaces at angle bracket (2) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
  34. Grind areas around the holes (area U) down to bare metal.
  35. Remove shavings.
