Inner Upper A-Pillar Reinforcement Partial Separation - Ar63.20-S-1111-01E

- Mark separating point and cut (area A).
Do not cut too deeply. Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
- Expose spot welds on partial inner upper A-pillar reinforcement (1) and cut (areas B and C).
- Heat partial inner upper A-pillar reinforcement (1) in crosshatched areas.
Crosshatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove damaged partial inner upper A-pillar reinforcement (1).
- Drill holes for MAG welding (area D).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in crosshatched areas and around the holes (area D).
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas E and F). Otherwise there may be adhesion problems.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces (areas E and F).
