- Mark separating point on side wall paneling (1) and cut (area A).
Do not cut too deeply.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
- Expose spot welds on side wall paneling (1) and cut out (area D).
- Expose spot weld and drill through (area E).
- Expose spot welds on side wall paneling (1) and cut out (areas F up to H).
Cut out spot welds (arrows) through two panel thicknesses.
- Expose laser weld seams on side wall paneling (1) and cut (areas I and J).
- Expose spot welds on bottom section of rear side wall paneling (2) and cut out (areas K to N).
- Expose MAG spot welds on rear side wall paneling bottom section (2) and cut out (area O).
- Cut inert gas welds on rear side wall paneling bottom section (2 (area P).
- Heat sidewall paneling (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded.
- Remove damaged side wall paneling (1).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in crosshatched areas and around hole (area Q).
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in crosshatched areas and around hole (area R).
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
