- Mark separating point on sidewall paneling (1) (area A).
- Cut separating point on sidewall paneling (1) (area A).
Do not cut too deeply.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
- Expose spot welds on sidewall paneling (1) (areas B to D).
- Cut out spot welds on sidewall paneling (1) (areas B to D).
- Expose spot weld (area E).
- Drill out spot weld (area E).
- Expose spot welds on the sidewall paneling (1) (areas F to H).
- Cut out spot welds on the sidewall paneling (1) (areas F to H).
Cut out spot welds (arrows) through two panel thicknesses.
- Expose laser weld seams on the sidewall paneling (1) (areas I and J).
- Cut laser weld seams on the sidewall paneling (1) (areas I and J).
- Expose spot welds on the rear sidewall paneling lower part (2) (areas K to N).
- Cut out spot welds on the rear sidewall paneling lower part (2) (areas K to N).
- Expose MAG spot welds on the rear sidewall paneling lower part (2) (area O).
- Cut out MAG spot welds on the rear sidewall paneling lower part (2) (area O).
- Cut shielding gas welds on the rear sidewall paneling lower part (2) (area P).
- Heat sidewall paneling (1) in cross-hatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove damaged side wall paneling (1).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in crosshatched areas and around hole (area Q).
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in crosshatched areas and around hole (area R).
