- Mark separating points on the sidewall paneling (1) (areas A to C).
- Cut separating points on the sidewall paneling (1) (areas A to C).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
- Expose spot welds on the sidewall paneling (1) (areas D to F).
- Cut out spot welds on the sidewall paneling (1) (areas D to F).
- Expose spot weld and drill through (area G).
- Expose spot welds on sidewall paneling (1) (areas H to J).
- Cut out spot welds on sidewall paneling (1) (areas H to J).
Cut out spot welds (arrows) through two panel thicknesses.
- Expose laser weld seams on the sidewall paneling (1) (areas K and L).
- Cut laser weld seams on the sidewall paneling (1) (areas K and L).
- Heat up sidewall paneling (1) in the cross-hatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove damaged side wall paneling (1).
- Mark separating points for the offset flange (areas M and N).
- Cut separating points for offset flange (areas M and N).
- Crimp connecting flange toward inside (area O).
- Grind mating surface down to bare metal around the hole (area P).
- Mark separating points for the offset flange (areas Q and R).
- Cut separating points for the offset flange (areas Q and R).
- Crimp connecting flange toward inside (area S).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas and around the holes (area T).
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Apply zinc dust paint to the insides of the spot weld flanges.
