DANGER Risk of death  caused by limbs being caught or crushed by rotating parts when performing tests on the brake test stand Never leave the vehicle unattended on the rollers except in an emergency. Ensure that no one is under the vehicle or near rotating parts during testing. In case of emergency, use the EMERGENCY OFF switch to shut down test stand. AS42.00-Z-0001-01A

INSPECT Check     
1 Mount pedal force meter onto brake pedal.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 32 21 00 Roller brake test stand IMPORTANT Observe manufacturer's operating instructions. WS42.00-P-0116B
2 Drive vehicle into roller brake test stand.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 32 21 00 Roller brake test stand IMPORTANT Model 447 with engine 254, 274, 622, 651, 654
Do not switch off engine.
IMPORTANT Model 447 with engine 780
Vehicle must be operational.

3 Gradually apply specified test forces to the brake pedal, and compare the brake force reached on each axle against the reference values. IMPORTANT The reference values must be reached to enable the specifications for the legally prescribed minimum deceleration to be fulfilled.  
    HAND-HELD TESTER Pedal force values (manufacturer's specifications for reference value method)
If the reference values are not achieved,

Determine causes and repair brake system as required.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.

4 Drive the vehicle off the roller brake test stand. NOTES
If the vehicle with a drive axle is on the rollers, drive it off the rollers only when the roller drive is running.
Otherwise, excessive roller acceleration could damage the drive of the rollers.
 
5 Operate parking brake.    
6 Switch off ignition.    
7 Remove pedal force meter.
