Adjust Parking Brake Cables - AR42.20-S-0540-01E

1. Mount pedal force meter (2) on pedal of parking brake.

   Connect pedal force meter (2) in accordance with manufacture's specifications.

2. Press pedal for parking brake up to first notch.

3. Tighten adjusting nut of cable slack adjuster (1) until rear wheels can still just be turned by hand.
4. Release pedal of parking brake again.

5. Depress parking brake pedal to first notch and read off display value .

   When doing so, the force must act at an angle of 90°, otherwise the value may be incorrect.

6. Release or tighten adjusting nut for cable slack adjuster (1) until the previous value is reached.
7. Actuate parking brake by 3 to 4 notches and check braking effect of parking brake.

   A sufficient braking effect must be achieved here.

   If braking effect is insufficient

   ↓

   repeat adjustment procedure if necessary.

8. After releasing the parking brake, check the freewheel of the rear wheels.

   If there is inadequate unrestricted travel

   ↓

   repeat adjustment procedure if necessary.
