For this, the electric parking brake must be released.

Activate brake lining change mode.

Switch on ignition.
To do so, press start/stop button (2) once.
Confirm any pending vehicle messages.
If vehicle messages are shown on the display of the instrument cluster or in the driver display (1).

Pending vehicle messages can be confirmed by pressing on the finger navigation pad (4).
Call up the "Workshop" menu.
To do so, press and hold the "Main menu" button (3) for approx. 7 s.

Then press and hold the finger navigation pad (4) for 7 s.
Use swipe movements on the finger navigation pad (4) to activate brake lining change mode via the selection in the "Brake lining change mode" menu.
Do not actuate the service brake while "Move to assembly position" is shown.

Otherwise, the spindle of the brake caliper will be damaged.

The assembly position is moved into.
Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).
This prevents any unintended deactivation of the brake lining change mode.

Deactivate brake lining change mode

Deactivate brake lining change mode only with brake linings installed and brake calipers installed.

Otherwise, the brake pistons will be pushed out of the brake calipers.
Switch on ignition.
To do so, press start/stop button (2) once.
Deactivate brake lining change mode via corresponding selection in "Brake lining change mode" menu.
The assembly position is exited.
Switch off ignition.
To do so, press start/stop button (2) twice. Do not actuate brake pedal.
