Location 

The right front door control unit is located on the door module behind the door lining

Tasks 

The right front door control unit has the following tasks:

• Reading in of signals 
• Evaluation of input parameters 
• Actuation of components 
• Transmitting signals 

Reading in of signals 

The input parameters are read in via the following connections:

• Direct line 
• Right front door LIN (LIN B6) 
• Interior CAN (CAN B) 

Direct line 

The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:

• Right front door rotary tumbler microswitch (M14/4s1)
• Right front power window motor Hall sensor (M104)
• Right front power window switch (S48s2)
• Front passenger central locking interior operation switch (S85/6)

Right front door LIN 

The signals for the following components are read in by the right front door LIN:

• Electrical passenger seat adjustment switch (S22/2) (with code SF2 (Electrically adjustable passenger seat)):
  • Front passenger head restraint adjustment button (S22/2s1)
  • Front passenger seat inclination adjustment button (S22/2s2)
  • Front passenger seat fore/aft adjustment button (S22/2s3)
  • Front passenger seat height adjustment button (S22/2s4)
  • Front passenger seat backrest adjustment button (S22/2s5)
  • Front passenger seat cushion length button (S22/2s6)
  • Front passenger memory function button (S22/2s7)
  • Front passenger memory 1 button (S22/2s8)
  • Front passenger memory 2 button (S22/2s9)
  • Front passenger memory 3 button (S22/2s10)
• Right seat climate control switch group (S203/1):
  • Right seat heating button (S203/1s1) (with code SF2 (electrically adjustable front passenger seat) or code H15 (heating for front passenger seat))

Interior CAN 

The right front door control unit reads in the following signals via the interior CAN:

• Circuit 15 status
• Crash signal
• Convenience feature mode
• Convenience feature direction
• Open/close central locking (CL) request
• PRE-SAFE® adjustment request (with code JP1 (PRE-SAFE))
• Moving to memory position request (with CODE SF2 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat))

Evaluation of input parameters 

The input parameters that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated

Actuation of components 

The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:

• Direct line 
• Right front door LIN

• Right front door central locking actuator (M14/4)
• Right exit and warning lamp (E20/2)
• Right front door handle recess illumination (E23/1) (with CODE LC1 (Ambient illumination))
• Right front illuminated door sill molding (E28/1) (with code LC1 (Ambiance illumination))
• Right front power window motor
• Right outside mirror (M215):
  • Right outside mirror turn signal lamp (M21/5e1)
  • Right outside mirror surround lighting (M21/5e2)
  • Right Blind Spot Assist readiness and warning display (M21/5e3) (with code JP2 (Driving (Lane Tracking Package))
  • Right mirror dimming (M21/5r4) (with code FP3 (Mirror Package))
  • Mirror up/down adjustment potentiometer (M21/5r3)
  • Mirror in/out adjustment potentiometer (M21/5r2)

The right front door control unit supplies the connected control elements with circuit 58d.

Right front door LIN 

The right front door control unit sends the following signals via the right front door LIN:

• Seat heater status (with CODE SF2 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat) or CODE H15 (Heater for front passenger seat))
• Seat ventilation status (with code SE1 (Seat climate control for passenger))

Transmitting signals 

The right front door control unit also sends the following signals via the interior CAN:

• Status of CL
• Door status (open/closed)
• Seat ventilation request (with code SE1 (Seat climate control for passenger))
• Seat heater request (with CODE SF2 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat) or CODE H15 (Heater for front passenger seat))
• Seat adjustment request (with CODE SF2 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat)
