1. Ensure that installation requirements are met.

   Working area must be completely dry. Ambient and room temperatures of below 15°C must be avoided. Start assembly only after reaching suitable climatic conditions. Otherwise adhesion of the digital radio (DAB) antenna (1), antenna foil (1.1) and grounding foil (1.2) cannot be guaranteed.

   The following operation steps describe installation in a left-hand drive vehicle. With right-hand drive vehicles these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.

2. Check condition of windshield and A-pillar in installation areas of antenna foil (1.1) and grounding foil (1.2).

   Before bonding, it is essential to check the condition of the installation areas for the antenna foil (1.1) and grounding foil (1.2) (e.g. damage, adhesive labels, etc.)

   Otherwise it will not be possible to remove the antenna foil (1.1) and grounding foil (1.2) again if this becomes necessary.

   The paint coat on the A-pillar do not have to be removed in the installation area of the grounding foil (1.2).

   If the condition of the installation areas for the antenna foil (1.1) and grounding foil (1.2) is not OK,

   ↓

   take appropriate measures to ensure that the condition is OK.

3. Route electric line of DAB antenna (1), as shown, in instrument panel to installation location of Communication and Navigation System (CNS) head unit.

   Do not kink the electric line of the DAB antenna (1) and ensure chafe-free routing.

   Prevent damage.

4. Clean bonding surfaces for DAB antenna (1), antenna foil (1.1) and grounding foil (1.2) in installation areas.

   The bonding areas of the DAB antenna (1), antenna foil (1.1) and grounding foil (1.2) must be dry and free of dust and grease.

   This helps to prevent adhesion problems.

   For this purpose, use the cleaner included in the parts kit.

5. Place DAB antenna (1) and antenna foil (1.1) on windshield with positive fit, as shown, and bond to surface.

   Do not touch the adhesive surfaces of the DAB antenna (1) and antenna foil (1.1).

   This helps to prevent adhesion problems.

   Check that the DAB antenna (1) and antenna film (1.1) are installed at the correct position on the windshield.

   This prevents malfunctions.

   To do so, remove the protective foils and carefully bond the DAB antenna (1) and antenna foil (1.1) to the windshield. After bonding, carefully press the DAB antenna (1) and antenna foil (1.1) onto the windshield again.

6. Place grounding foil (1.2) on A-pillar with positive fit, as shown, and bond to surface.

   Do not touch the adhesive surface of the grounding foil (1.2).

   This helps to prevent adhesion problems.

   To do so, remove the protective foil from the grounding foil (1.2).

7. Secure electric line of DAB antenna (1) section by section to factory-installed electrical wiring harness using cable ties.

   The connector socket (2) on the electric line of the DAB antenna (1) is attached during installation of the CNS head unit.
