Retrofit Hands-Free System Microphone In Overhead Control Panel Or Front Dome Lamp - AN82.70-S-0015-01E

  1. Detach holder (2) from hands-free system microphone (1).

    IMPORTANT To do so, undo the catch on the holder (2) and pull out the articulated plate (1.1) of the hands-free system microphone (1). The holder (2) is no longer required and can be disposed of properly.

  2. Bond adhesive strip (3) from supplied parts kit to articulated plate (1.1) of hands-free system microphone (1).

    IMPORTANT The following operation steps describe installation on a left-hand drive vehicle. With right-hand drive vehicles these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.

    1. Model 447.6/7

      with code LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel)

      Model 447.6/7

      with code LD0 (Overhead control panel with two reading lights)

      Clean bonding surface in installation area of hands-free system microphone (1) at overhead control panel (OCP) control unit (N70).

      NOTES The bonding area on the articulated plate (1.1) must be dry and free of dust and grease.

      This helps to prevent adhesion problems.

    2. Model 447.6/7

      except code LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) except code LD0 Overhead control panel with two reading lights)

      Clean bonding surface in installation area of hands-free system microphone (1) at front dome lamp (10).

      NOTES The bonding area on the articulated plate (1.1) must be dry and free of dust and grease.

      This helps to prevent adhesion problems.

      Place hands-free system microphone (1) on overhead control panel (OCP) control unit (N70) with positive fit, as shown, and bond to surface.

      IMPORTANT To do so, remove the protective foil and bond the hands-free system microphone (1) with articulated plate (1.1) to the overhead control panel (OCP) control unit (N70).

    2. Model 447.6/7

      except code LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) except code LD0 (Overhead control panel with two reading lights)

      Place hands-free system microphone (1) on front dome lamp (10) with positive fit, as shown, and bond to surface.

      IMPORTANT To do so, remove the protective foil and bond the hands-free system microphone (1) with articulated plate (1.1) to the front dome lamp (10).

  3. Route electric line of hands-free system microphone (1), as shown, behind front roof lining up to installation location of Audio 40.

    NOTES Do not kink the electric line at the hands-free system microphone (1) and ensure chafe-free routing. This will prevent damage occurring.

    IMPORTANT The jack plug (4) of the electric line at the hands-free system microphone (1) is not attached until the Audio 40 is installed.

  4. Secure electric line at hands-free system microphone (1) section by section to factory-installed electrical wiring harness using cable ties.

    NOTES Do not route or fasten the electric line at the hands-free system (1) in the operating and deployment range of the window airbag. The tensioning straps of the window airbag must under no circumstances be wrapped.

    Otherwise, the functionality of the window airbag may be impaired.

    If necessary,

    Strap down excess length of electric line at hands-free system microphone (1) using cable ties.
