| 1 | Push suitable disassembly clips into side openings of digital tachograph control unit (DTCO) (A56) as far as the stop and lock in place | ||
| 2 | Pull digital tachograph control unit (DTCO) (A56) out of installation frame using disassembly clips | When removing the buffer battery (6), the vehicle-side power supply must always remain connected to the digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit (A56). Otherwise the digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit (A56) can no longer be operated. |

| 4 | Remove lead seal (3) and swing open cover (5) of battery compartment (4) | ||
| 5 | Remove backup battery (6) from battery compartment (4) and detach electrical connection (7) | ||

| 7 | Insert backup battery (6) into battery compartment (4) | ||
| 8 | Close cover (5) of battery compartment (4) | ||
| 9 | Fit new lead seal (3) | ||
| 10 | Push digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit (A56) into installation frame and lock in place |
