Location
The rear camera cover is behind the relevant camera.
Task
The rear camera cover flap (1) protects the lens of the corresponding camera against soiling. The rear camera cover flap (1) is opened automatically when the camera is activated and closed when the camera is deactivated.
In MODEL 447.8, 448.8, the rear camera cover flap (1) can be opened for cleaning the camera lens, using the operating menu of the radio (Audio/COMAND) (N87/6).
Actuation:
The camera cover (KAB) control unit (N144) actuates the rear camera cover motor in the liftgate open switch, exterior operation, reversing camera/360° camera (S202) directly. The position of the rear camera cover flap (1) is recorded by liftgate open switch, exterior operation, reversing camera/360° camera (S202) and sent to the camera cover (KAB) control unit (N144).
