General information
The drivetrain control unit (N127) is used for component parts that act as a gateway for the engine management.
The drivetrain control unit (N127) connects the engine management component parts to the electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit (N73/8) and therefore connects to the entire vehicle architecture both over the periphery CAN (CAN PER) and over the suspension FlexRay (Flex E).
Function
The networking of the drivetrain control unit (N127) varies depending on the engine installed. A differentiation is made here between a diesel engine OM654 and a gasoline engine M254:
Variant with diesel engine
The NOx sensor control unit upstream of SCR catalytic converter (A97/1), NOx sensor control unit downstream of SCR catalytic converter (A97/2), NOx sensor control unit downstream of the underbody SCR catalytic converter (A97/3) as well as the AdBlue® (SCR) control unit (N141) forward their data for the exhaust system over the (CAN I) to the CDI control unit (N3/40). The CDI control unit (N3/40) then sends the data over the engine CAN (CAN C1) to the drivetrain control unit (N127).
The CDI control unit (N3/40) sends the data for the drive over the drivetrain LIN (LIN G2) from the alternator (N14) and the glow output stage (C1/8) to the drivetrain control unit () over the engine CAN (CANC1N127).
The CDI control unit (/40), fully integrated transmission control (VGS) electric controller unit (N3/15) (with code N15 (G43-TRONIC)) and the fuel system control unit (FSCU) (9G/9) are networked directly with the drivetrain control unit (N118) over the drivetrain CAN (CANN127C).
Information on engine cooling is forwarded over the drivetrain LIN (LIN C3) by the cooler fan (M4/14), low-temperature circuit electric coolant pump (M75/18) and the rotary valve switchover valve (Y97/6) to the drivetrain control unit (N127).
Variant with gasoline engine
The electric coolant pump (M43/10) is connected to the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/34) over LIN. The ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/34) forwards the received information over the engine CAN (CAN C1) to the drivetrain control unit (N127).
The information from the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) electric controller unit (N15/15) (with code G43 (9G-TRONIC)) is sent over the drive CAN 2 (CAN C2) directly to the drivetrain control unit (N127).
The fuel system control unit (FSCU) (/9) is directly networked with the drivetrain control unit (N118) over the drivetrain CAN (CANN127C).
Information on engine cooling is forwarded over the drivetrain LIN (LIN C3) by the cooler fan (M4/14), low-temperature circuit electric coolant pump (M75/18) and the rotary valve switchover valve (Y97/6) to the drivetrain control unit (N127).
