Rear Wheel Well Section Cut Off - Ar63.10-P-0662-01ME

Model 167 

The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 167.1. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Mark separating point on outer rear wheel well (1) and cut (area A).

   Do not cut too deeply. Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

   Dimensions  :

   a = approx. 35 mm

2. Expose spot welds on outer rear wheel well (1) and cut out (areas B).
3. Expose spot welds on rear fender and cut out from inside (area C).

4. Heat outer rear wheel well (1) in cross-hatched area (area D).

   Cross-hatched area is bonded.

5. Remove outer rear wheel well section (1).

6. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

   Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal only in area of recesses (area F).

7. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surface (area E).

8. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
