TAILLAMP Reinforcement Separation - Ar63.20-P-2011-01MEX

The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Expose and cut off spot welds at connecting panel (1) (areas A).
2. Expose spot welds at connecting panel (1) and drill out with Ø 6.5 mm (areas B₁ , B₂ ).
3. Expose and cut off laser seams at connecting panel (1) (area C).
4. Remove connecting panel (1).

5. Expose spot welds on rear lamp reinforcement (2) and cut out (areas D).
6. Expose spot welds at rear lamp reinforcement (2) and drill out with Ø 6.5 mm (area E).
7. Remove rear lamp reinforcement (2).

   To remove the rear lamp reinforcement (2), the flanges of the rear fender must be bent open.

8. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

9. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
10. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
